- Genesee County Fairgrounds, Batavia, NY 14020, USA
The race track at the Genesee fairgrounds is as old as dirt. This works out well since it is dirt. It is a 3/8 oval that used to be known as Genesee Speedway. The new name was derived from the fact that it’s a raceway, and it’s located on route 5 (we’re not talking about Einstein here folks). Almost every type of motorized vehicle has used the track in some fashion. From motorcycles, to tractor pulls, stunt cars and of course race cars. There have been some exciting times on the track, and the 2012 will be no exception.
What can you expect this year at Raceway5. Some of the most competitive racing in years, and some very fan friendly amenities. Jim and Annette are running 5 classes this year. Sprint 600′s, Mini stocks, Street stocks, Late Model, and Sportsman Modified. The goal is to put on the best show possible for both racers and fans alike. They plan to run 15 races this year, weather permitting, starting at the end of May. The Raceway5 website (www.raceway5.com) will have current weather conditions along with many other useful tools. Please check it out. We will also be trying to send notifications when a race event is canceled or postponed due to weather via the website, and/or Facebook, twitter, or having Annette yell from atop the press box.
